Windows Phone 7 Probably Won’t Be On Tablets

Tablets fill this weird gap between phone and computer that make deciding what they REALLY are a bit hard. Is it a scaled down version of a computer with no keyboard? Is it a bigger version of a phone with some added features and customizations? According to Microsoft’s OEM VP Steve Guggenheimer (he should work at Google) it’s the former of those two. He says the company has no plans to scale Windows Phone 7 to tablets.

Regardless of how they approach the tablet niche, WP7 fans need not worry, I’m sure they’ll be aggressively pursuing compatibility between all Windows products. We wouldn’t mind seeing the Metro UI reach tablets as we’ve seen in concept designs and we’re happy to hear while they don’t have current plans, they haven’t ruled it out either.
