iPhone Game Developers Getting Cash Offers For Windows Phone Ports

Microsoft REALLY wants to make a splash when they launch and they rightfully understand that a vibrant marketplace of apps and games is crucial to their success. With developers busy working on iPhone and Android, how will they be able to lure them to Microsoft pasture? With cash money greenery.

Word out of Pocketgamer.biz is that Microsoft is contacting popular iPhone Game Devs and offering them substantial sums of money to develop a version for Windows Phone 7. It’s much harder than it sounds, and while PocketGamer’s anonymous developers have acknowledged the sum is quite high, it was ultimately too much risk with too little guaranteed reward to commit.

Speaking of commitment, I’m happy to see Microsoft putting forth the resources required to make Windows Phone 7 a success. Maybe just a little negotiation and some of these devs will crack!
