Some countries will miss out on key WP7 features at launch

Windows Phone 7 is set to launch in all its glory in October, but it looks like some languages will miss out on some key features in order to speed up the launch. The full version of WP7 will only be available in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian speaking countries.

The “incomplete” versions are still usable, but will not have Xbox Live connectivity, Zune support, or a full Marketplace. Also they will be forced to use the default keyboard (no native characters), display web and e-mail content only in their native languages, and will not be capable of copy/paste. No word yet on which specific countries will receive which version.

Despite this, it doesn’t seem like a total dealbreaker…what do you think?
