Microsoft demos Metro UI apps, finalizes dev pack

Although the Windows Phone Marketplace won’t be nearly the size of Android Market or Apple’s App Store, it looks like most of the big apps will be ported over in a reasonable time. Microsoft has shown off Twitter, Netflix, Flixter, OpenTable, and Travelocity apps, many of them featuring the “Metro” UI and we expect lots more to follow suit.

On the developer side, it doesn’t look like much has changed from the beta toolkit except for the Bing Maps Control SDK that has been made available. Here’s what Microsoft has to say.

Head over to Engadget for live video demos of the aforementioned apps and Microsoft’s press release.
