EA to partner with Microsoft for WP7 game development

EA has announced that will be partnering up with Microsoft and publishing games for the Windows Phone 7 platform.  This is definitely a nice solid partner and should help boost phone sales.

Some early titles that EA said they will releasing are

  • Need for Speed- should be fun to play on your own or with others and compare high scores with others online
  • Tetris – The marathon version will definitely leave people competing for the highest score on XBox Live proving not only that they can master Tetris on the computer but on a handheld as well
  • The Sims 3 – good time waster on a long car ride or when your stuck in an airport
  • Monopoly – should definitely be a fun multi-player game that you can pick up and leave off when you want with friends

These are definitely some good titles to start with and Windows announced that they will have new games released each week and a try-before-you-buy option.  It appears that they are going to push to have good games and if XBox Live works as well on the phone as it does on the XBox I think people will be very satisfied.
