An industry insider has leaked out some information about Microsoft’s upcoming releases of Windows Phone. First is Windows Phone Tango. As we’ve said in the past Tango is not a major release, but it has some needed features. According to the insider Tango will be announced at CES on the Lumia 719 and 900. Tango will bring LTE and smaller screen size support. It will roll out to existing devices in the months after CES.
Next up after Tango will be Windows Phone 8 “Apollo.” WP8 is expected to bring support for NFC, dual-core processors, larger displays, and larger bodies. The latter two features will work nicely on Nokia’s first tablet which may be unveiled at NokCon. Apollo will be rolled out in June of 2012. Can you smell the excitement?
