Windows Phone Expected to Have 6.2% Marketshare in 2012, Sell 40 Million Devices

It’s no secret that 2012 is expected to be a huge year for Windows Phone, but just how huge will it be? Digital Research has conducted a study that shows the expected marketshare of smartphones in 2012. Android takes the top spot with 57.6%, iOS is second with 18.1%, and our beloved Windows Phone comes in third at 6.2%. In Q3 of this year Microsoft was at 2%.

The report also expects 40 million Windows Phone devices to be sold. That’s compared to 386 million Android devices, and 121 million iOS devices. Hopefully these promising numbers come true.
