Ross Rubin of the NPD Group Says Consumer Attitude Toward WP7 is Positive

In a recent interview with CNET’s Maggie Reardon, Principal Analyst for NPD group Ross Rubin said that the consumer attitude for Windows Phone is a positive one, and that people are willing to give the devices a try. Rubin mentions that Microsoft has an opportunity to gain budget conscious consumers who have not yet upgraded to smartphones from the iOS and Android ecosystems.

We’re likely to see a big push from Microsoft with the Tango update, since Microsoft will want to net as many people as possible who are off contract or considering upgrading to a shiny new phone.
