Does the HTC Titan Have Antenna Problems?

htctitanunibody

WPSauce  is reporting that the HTC Titan may be subject to a devastating antenna flaw due to the way the phone is designed. Titan’s may receive poor call quality because of the location of the antenna in the unibody metal design, which HTC is aware of according to this letter to a customer.

Dear Sushovan De,

To stay on top of updates for any of our devices, keep an eye on our official website and our official social media outlets(Facebook & Twitter). Once we have information regarding an update, it will be posted to these sites first.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, Sushovan, and we appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this important issue for you and other Titan users. As always, we are here to answer any technical questions or concerns you may have between 6am to 1am EDST, 7 days a week for your convenience, or by phone at <number>

Interesting enough, the new HTC Titan II that debuted at CES features a plastic back instead of an all metal design like the original design. It’s odd that the Titan has received such high satisfaction rates with such a huge flaw, but this is just evidence that smartphones have evolved beyond just its utility as a means of vocal communication with others.

  • I make actual phone calls so infrequently, that if my phone had a faulty antenna, I wouldn’t be aware of it for months on end.

Anyone aware of updates to this?
