ZTE Plans to Expand Windows Phone Deployment in 2012

If the ZTE Tania we previewed at CES looked pretty awesome to you, you’ll be happy to know that ZTE has big plans for the Chinese and US markets when it comes to Windows Phones. Aside from announcing their plans to double the number of phone shipments in 2012, the company also announced that it was seeking to expand its coverage of Windows Phone handsets.

The company shipped over 80 million smartphones last year, so doubling this number is a lofty goal indeed. With the Tania currently available in parts of Europe, this expansion goal will likely mean that we’ll see it soon over here in the US, with a successor for the Tango/Apollo updates in the coming months.
