More Details on ZTE’s US Strategy Emerge

According to AllThingsD, ZTE plans to bring a Windows Phone to the United States this year. We figured we’d see the ZTE Tania at some point within 2012, but apparently ZTE has other plans. ZTE phones could become more commonplace as the company seems more willing to work with carriers on branding and customizations.

“We understand the U.S. market is primarily a market driven by the carriers,” ZTE U.S. CEO Lixin Cheng said. “Compared with some of our competitors, we are more willing to customize our product.”

The company plans to launch an LTE smartphone, tablet, and a mobile hotspot within the United States this year. Devices will include both Android and Windows Phone devices with no concrete carriers announced yet.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on what ZTE is planning to do, as a Windows 8 tablet could be within the cards for the company.
