Marvell May Be Entering the Chinese Windows Phone Market

Jack Kang, the director of Marvell’s applications processor business unit said in a recent interview with Daily Tech that, “If there’s Windows Phones in China, there will probably be Windows Phones with Marvell in China.” Qualcomm is the only processor manufacturer producing chips for Chinese Windows Phone devices at the moment, so this could be a big move for the American company.

It seems likely that we won’t see Marvell-powered chips in the phones until after Tango has arrived, since Marvell enjoys putting out quality low-cost products and Tango’s specs would allow the manufacturer to do just that. With more processor manufacturers getting into the Windows Phone ecosystem, we’re pretty sure the quality of these phones is only going to go up.
