Radio Controlled (Pandora) Receives Update, Removes Session Timeouts

Radio Controlled is one of a couple really nice Pandora apps in the Marketplace. We just got word from the developer that an update to version 1.2 is live in the Marketplace. The big feature here is the removal of session timeouts. You are now free to stream for as long as you like. The dev mentions he has had it running for over 8 hours. The update also includes some bug smashing.

The dev also shared his planned features for the future, you can see them below.

  • Sharing via Twitter/Facebook
    • Share button
    • Possible auto tweeting, but that would require an additional login.  This may not make the next update
  • Settings change to allow no background in the Panorama. This was a user request
  • Fuller integration with Last.fm – I already have the login enabled for Last.fm to allow scrobbling.  I could add support to pull down Last.fm stations and allow you to play those in addition to Pandora.  This would be a large investment in time and I think it would be worth it.  Would you guys use this?
  • Testing with Blue tooth headsets – A few users reported the music starts back up after paused while using blue tooth.
  • Status section inside About page – Going to add a page that shows the current status of the app.  If Pandora makes a change that breaks the app I will be able to update this to let everyone know there is an issue.  This will also show the status of any pending app updates.

If you let us know what you think about these features, or any ideas for other features, we will gladly pass them along.
