6 Week Training for Windows Phone Review [Video]

Some of the best uses for technology are the ones that help us live better. The ability to have a calorie counter, diet guide, or fitness trainer in our pockets wherever we go is an amazing thing. I was recently looking for such an app when my eyes landed on a bright orange icon called 6 Week  Training.

In a nutshell, 6 Week Training is an app that helps you reach a goal in 6 weeks. Those goals come in the form of 5 different exercises: 100 pushups, 200 situps, 20 pullups, 150 dips, or 200 squats. You tell the app how many of your desired exercise you can do and it will create a 6 week program built to get you to the goal. Check out the video below for an overview on how the app works.

The interface and design are what initially attracted me to this app over the alternatives. The orange, teal, and white color scheme somehow works. Buttons are large an easy to tap, which is helpful when you’re in the middle of a tiring workout. If your volume is turned up high enough you’ll hear a helpful voice tell you when it’s time to start the next rep.

I’ve only been using the app for a week and a half, but I can already tell it’s working. Every time I train the app gives me a little more to do, but it still feels about as difficult as the first day. That’s because as the reps increase you get stronger. I have complete faith that by the end of the 6th week I will be doing 100 pushups. If this sounds like something you’d like to try you can find it here for free.
