Mozilla Planning a Metro Version of Firefox for Windows 8

Hot on the heels of the announcement of the Consumer Preview, Mozilla has revealed that it will release a Metro styled version of Firefox for Windows 8. Gecko will still be used as the main layout engine, but Mozilla plans to take full advantage of the touch screen enhancement for Metro apps.

Mozilla aims to have the proof of concept ready around Q2 2012, as reported by The Verge. The company is also toying with the idea of a live tile for the Start Screen with specific user data to be displayed when the browser is not active.
