Facebook for Windows Phone Receives Substantial Update

Facebook for Windows Phone is one of those apps that a ton of people use, but they probably don’t love the app. Let’s face it, Facebook was an app that Microsoft needed at the launch of Windows Phone. Since then the app hasn’t received much attention. That all changes today.

The Facebook app has received a pretty significant update today, though it’s not quite live in the Marketplace. The update includes access to groups and pages, the ability to see who liked your posts, you can change your banner image, and the newsfeed has improved performance. Check out the laundry list of features below.

  • News feed performance improvements
  • New panorama design.
  • New profile design.
  • Banner Images.
  • Improved navigation.
  • Pages
  • Groups
  • View “likes”.
  • Feed filters.
  • Posting privacy.
  • Bug fixing

Personally I use the People Hub for all my social networks, but this update has me thinking about giving the app another try. You can find Facebook in the Marketplace here. The update should be live by the end of today.
