Bing Vision Upgraded to Recognize Newspapers

Bing Vision is Microsoft’s answer to Google Goggles for Android and it looks like the service is finally catching up. The service received a server-side upgrade today that will allow it to recognize newspaper articles in addition to currently recognized media such as CD and DVD covers. Microsoft had this to say about the upgrade:

Bing Image Matching for Newspapers allows users to take a photo of an article using their Windows Phone camera and link directly to a digital version of the article online.’

Offering global access, consumers will have access to content from over 3,000 publications worldwide.

Currently there is no announced date for when the rollout will occur, but we’ll keep you updated.
