Samsung Will Have Windows Phone 8 Devices at the End of the Year

While Nokia continues to pump out Windows Phones other OEMs seem content to wait until Apollo is released at the end of the year. Matt Brum, head of product management, says they are looking forward to delivering WP8 handsets at the end of the year. Matt had this to say:

“We’re very much still focusing on Windows, and still have products in that area. We’re committed to delivering their products going forward. There will be more products, and the key thing for us is making sure we hit the right price points and segments for our customers. [Windows Phone 8] is coming at the end of the year, and will increase the capability of the platform, and Samsung is looking to optimise its devices on that.”

He also hinted at the possibility of Windows 8 tablets. Samsung has already made a Windows 8 tablet for developers, so it’s not a stretch to believe they’ll make another one for consumers. Samsung is arguably the hottest hardware manufacturer of the time, so it will be great to get them on board with the next versions of Windows.
