Microsoft Working on Touchscreens with Only 1ms of Lag

It’s hard to find a electronic device these days without a touchscreen, but that’s not to say they are perfect. In fact many touchscreens, and the software that goes with them, suffer from “lag.” Lag is when the content on the screen reacts slowly to the touch of your finger or stylus. Microsoft Research claims that the average touchscreen has 100ms of lag, they want to cut that down to a measly 1ms. As you can see in the video above the 1ms of lag is nearly imperceptible. This technology would make drawing on a tablet with a stylus a much more enjoyable experience.

  • That’s just amazing. Can’t wait to see when this kinda tech starts hitting the marketplace.
