Compal Expects to Ship 4 Million Lumia 610’s in Q2

With the Lumia 610 Nokia is clearly making an attempt at the low-end market. This is great for Windows Phone, because Android has been dominating the low-end with no real competition. If new expectations from Compal come true the Lumia 610 could be that competition we so desperately need.

DigiTimes is reporting that Compal expects to ship 4 million Lumia 610’s in Q2. To put that in perspective there were only 2.7 million Windows Phone devices sold in Q4 of last year. It’s not unrealistic to think that Nokia could sell around 7 million devices next quarter. The 610 is going to help Windows Phone a lot.
