Microsoft to Deliver Tango Under New Name?

We’ve been talking about the Windows Phone Tango update for a few months now, ┬ábut with the update finally on the horizon it looks like Microsoft may be considering changing the update’s name once it is finally pushed out to consumer handsets. A claim from Italy says that Microsoft will redub the update the Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh update.

Whew. That’s quite a mouthful compared to Tango Update. Of course, Microsoft’s reasoning for changing the name of the update could be that the Tango update is scheduled to support lower end phones that will ultimately have lower functionality than many current Mango handset thanks to their lower specs.

What do you think about the change? Is it a good move should it go through, or should Microsoft stick with Tango and retain the update naming convention that has been established?

  • I think it’s kinda silly… but I get why they see a need to do it. I’d refer to it as the 7.5 REMIX though. That sounds way more cool and edgy.
