Windows 8 Browsers to Play Nice with Metro, Firefox First

We told you about a month ago that Mozilla was planning a Metro version of Firefox to integrate seamlessly into Windows 8, but it seems the requirements for browsers on Windows 8 are yet again changing. Microsoft is altering the MetroUI rules once again to let traditional web browsers participate in the Metro experience.

This seems like a good way to create confusion, as the new category is a hybrid between a traditional desktop application and the new MetroUI with live tiles and snap features. Browsers with MetroUI features will be available as traditional downloads instead of through the Windows Store, further muddling the experience.

I really hope Microsoft knows what they’re doing with these arbitrary set of requirements.
