Lenovo to be the First Windows 8 Tablet Manufacturer?

Windows 8 is approaching this year and if you’re excited about all the announcements surrounding the possibility of a Windows tablet that’s not hard to use, then you’re probably weighing your options at release.

The Verge is reporting that Lenovo aims to be the very first manufacturer to offer a Windows 8 tablet to consumers, with the company believing that October will be when the operating system is finished and devices will be shipped. The source didn’t mention any specific details on the tablet aside from saying that it would use an Intel chip.

The tablet pictured above is one possibility and was shown at CES. It’s the 13.3″ IdeaPad Yoga, which has an attached keyboard on a 360-degree hinge that allows you to situate the machine into a laptop configuration, similar to the Transformer Prime Android tablet.

  • That’s cool, but I’ll have to stick with my current desktop/laptop configs for a while. It may be time to DIY my monitors into touch devices lol
