Nokia is Windows Phone’s Number One OEM

When Microsoft and Nokia penned their deal that would see Nokia offering up Windows Phone handsets in favor of the dying Symbian breed, no one was sure which company was trying to save the other. Microsoft had long been out of touch in the mobile marketplace, while Nokia made devices that people wanted with operating systems that they didn’t.

Now that the companies have been working together for over a year and have produced several great devices, including the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 900, Nokia feels more confident than ever in their strategy with Microsoft.j Rom Farrell, the vice-president of Nokia in the Middle East issued this statement:

“Our strategy is working. When we formed an alliance last year with Microsoft our intention was to regain lost share. After one year, it is still working. We are the number one Windows phone┬áin volume in the world. Our momentum is accelerating.”

Both Nokia and Microsoft are hoping their launch strategy in China will help cement Windows Phone as a global world player in the mobile ecosystem.
