Lumia 800 Features Prominently in British Airways Smartphone Boarding Passes Ad

It’s always interesting to see how well Nokia’s various advertising efforts have paid off for the company. In this case, it seems to be pretty well, as the Lumia 800 didn’t gain much traction in the UK, but British Airways have decided to feature the phone as an example of a generic smartphone showing customers how mobile boarding passes can make their lives easier.

The British Airways app allows for Mobile check in, flight information, and even the ability to upgrade or purchase flights direct from the app, which is available on iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, and Windows Phone.

It’s nice to see a Lumia at the forefront of generic advertising like this, but it seems like the British Airways app is pretty ┬ánifty as well. Hopefully some of the major airlines here in the United States will adopt something that is equally as easy and keep Windows Phone in mind when they do.
