Wozniak Praises the Lumia 900 and Windows Phone in General

It’s not often you hear great things about your product from a former competitor, but the guys at Windows Phone and Nokia must be especially proud of themselves over the weekend as Steve Wozniak has been very verbal in his approval of the Windows Phone ecosystem after stopping off in an AT&T store to pick up a Lumia 900.

“I surmise that Microsoft hired someone from Apple and put money into having a role in the UI and appearance of some key apps. I also surmised that Steve Jobs might have been reincarnated at MS due to a lot of what I see and feel with this phone making me think of a lot of great Apple things.”

Wozniak did mention in tweets that the lack of apps was killer for Windows Phone and ultimately made iOS and Android more appealing, but the fact that the design alone appeals to such a huge name in the industry and warrants such comments is an amazing feat.

  • Design-wise, I think the Lumia-family and WP7 combo are fantastic. But in terms of what I need/want from a phone, I have to stay plugged into my Google stuff at full capacity. It’s an addiction.

I liked what I saw of the Lumina too. But I think I’d wait before I made the switch. The (Nokia+MS) platform will mature a bit in the coming months and Win 8 will also be on the scene.
