The Galaxy S III Clearly Looks Like the Samsung Mandel

A pretty big phone was announced today for the Android folks. Of course we’re talking about the over-hyped Samsung Galaxy S III. The phone is spec’d out like you would expect an Android phone to be, but the interesting thing for us Windows Phone fans is its design.

As you can see in the images above the GSIII strikes a remarkable resemblance to the Samsung Mandel images we posted earlier today. This is particularly interesting because of the rumor that Samsung’s next Windows Phone device would basically be a re-purposed Galaxy S III. Now that the GSIII hardware might be in our future we should get to know it a little better.

  • 4.8″ (1280×720) HD Super AMOLED display
  • 8MP camera / 1.9MP FF camera
  • 1.4GHz quad-core processor
  • 2100 mAh battery
  • NFC
  • HSPA+ / LTE

Like what you see? So do we. Now just imagine all that with Windows Phone 8 on board.

  • Is Mandel supposed to have a HD display and all that? Design-wise, Howie Mandel looks almost identical to the GS3 but…….

That top metal band at the top and screen size reminds me more of a white Samsung Galaxy Blaze..

It makes sense, the Focus was a repurposed Galaxy S Vibrant, and the Focus S was a repurposed Galaxy S II.

You’re right about the back of the phone, but if you look at the front the camera and sensor placement is identical to the GS3.

Oh, and yes, WP8 is supposed to support higher screen resolutions.

  • It’s pretty typical of Samsung to recycle stuff like this, but awesome catch! I thought it looked familiar yesterday. Just couldn’t place it for the life of me.
