Samsung will launch a Windows based Galaxy Note variant

The Galaxy Note has done surprisingly well for Samsung. Not many people expected the giant 5.3″ screen device to sell so well. According to SmartHouse Samsung will be bringing the Note form factor and stylus input to the Windows ecosystem. They also said they will have 11″ and 14″ Windows 8 tablets with docking stations/keyboards. A Samsung exec had this to say:

“Microsoft still has a big installed PC base and there are a lot of Windows applications out there that consumers want to get on a portable device. Windows 8 allows us to deliver across multiple devices.”

We would absolutely love to see something like the Galaxy Note with Windows software. It will be interesting to see if they choose to use Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8. Such a big screen would probably be better suited for Windows 8. Would you buy a device with a 5.3″ screen?

  • Interesting. I’d like to see how that works with the WP system.

  • The source link doesn’t mention a Windows phone Galaxy Note. Was that info pulled or what?

  • WinSource

    It’s still in there.

  • Now I see it, I couldn’t get past the first couple of paragraphs before because it apparently didn’t load. Thanks!
