Huawei VP confirms Windows Phone 8 device

We’ve heard that Huawei could be interested in working with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, but it appears that VP Yu Chendog has gone ahead and confirmed that. Chengdong was at Microsofts Partner Summit in Tokyo with Steve Ballmer. He was quoted as saying Huawei would be the “worlds first WP* supplier!”

Earlier rumors involving Huawei said they have 70 engineers working on a 4″ Apollo device. It is also expected to be a lowe end device, which could prove to be a good sign for current devices getting the update. Huawei has been making a push in the U.S. market, so we’re curious to see what they come up with.
