Windows Phone Marketplace now home to 100,000 applications

The Marketplace has been steadily growing ever since it launched, and in the past 6 months the rate has sped up. It has been 20 months since the Marketplace launched, and we have already hit 100,000 apps. That is 4 months faster than it took Android, and 4 months slower than it took iOS. In the last 5 months alone the Marketplace has doubled in size.

So what does all this mean? Well, unfortunately it doesn’t change anything. There is still a lack of official app support, and some people will never be able to look past that. Until we get apps like Pandora, YouTube, and Instagram it isn’t going to matter how many apps are available.
