Stephen Elop has reaffirmed Nokia’s commitment to Windows Phone in a conference call with investors today. Elop stated that Nokia’s strategy in competing with Android is through offering handsets at a low-end price point, even lower than the current Lumia 610. Elop confirmed that support from Microsoft’s engineers will help them find new ways to reduce te price points of their future phones.
With Nokia Maps integration expected at the Microsoft developer summit in the coming few weeks, it’s no surprise to see the companies becoming even more entwined as they prepare themselves for a long uphill battle against both iOS and Android.
