Windows Phone 8 has Skype and VoIP integration

Ever since the purchase of Skype, Windows Phone fans have been clamoring for built in VoIP support. We all expected this to happen in WP8, and indeed it has.

Microsoft’s Greg Sullivan says that he wouldn’t categorize it as Skype integration, but VoIP in general. He says that there will still be a Skype app, and other VoIP apps as well, that will be able to access VoIP APIs. These apps will become first class Windows Phone 8 apps, which allows them to integrate into the phone. he even jokes that if Apple created a FaceTime app for Windows Phone it would be more integrated than on their own iPhones.
