Windows Phone 8 Will Include Nokia’s Mapping Technology

For those of you who have never had the chance to use a Lumia device for Nokia Drive, you may not realize how important this is. All map data can be downloaded and used offline, so even if you have no connection no matter where you are, you’ll still have your map data.

Turn by turn directions will also be included in many countries, which means the directional services for Windows Phone 8 just got much better. This also further cements the relationship between Microsoft and Nokia, which means the major ecosystem players have all moved onto developing their own map platforms, instead of relying on Google.
