Microsoft will force you to use “Metro” whether you like it or not

Windows 8 has two distinct environments: the desktop, and Metro. Desktop is what we’re all used to using in Windows 7, and Metro is the much talked about new interface. Microsoft really wants users to use Metro, and you better like it because you won’t have any choice.

In a report at ZDNet it has been discovered that Microsoft has removed the option to boot to the desktop. Now you will have no other option than booting directly to Metro, and then switching to the desktop. This is another move that shows just how much Microsoft believes in Metro. Letting people switch to Metro more slowly may be the better option, but it seems Microsoft is impatient.
