Windows Phone sees a 115% growth compared to 2011

We’ve been seeing a steady growth in Windows Phone this year, and now we have some data to back it up. IDC has released some data today about platform growth, and over the year Windows Phone has shown an increase of 115%. In Q2 5.4 million Windows Phone devices were shipped, more than doubling the Q2 total in 2011. Windows Phone is also catching up to Blackberry and Symbian quickly to become the 3rd major OS.

As Microsoft shows off the ecosystem more and more with Windows 8 we expect the numbers to only get better. Not many people realize that Microsoft has a great ecosystem, which is very important in this age of connected technology. Once people see that Windows Phone works well with their PC the numbers should improve even faster.
