Square CEO Hints at Windows Phone App

Amid a lot of hubbub about Square’s partnership with Starbucks that will allow mobile payments for the coffee giant, Square CEO Jack Dorsey was asked a very important question. The app is currently only available for iOS and Android, with many wondering when the convenient card reader would debut for Windows Phone. When asked, Dorsey had this to say:

“We will definitely build for where the users are, and we’re excited about the Windows Phone interface.”

While that’s not concrete evidence that Square will be heading to Windows Phone anytime soon, it does let us know that companies are watching the direction Windows Phone goes in and will be launching their apps when they feel like the userbase is high enough. This means Microsoft needs to do all it can to ensure adoption rates for Windows Phone 8 are even higher than Windows Phone 7.
