That 277% sales increase for Windows Phone in the month of July? Looks like it really cut into HTC. According to Canaccord Genuity’s latest retail report, the Lumia 900 outperformed the HTC One X in sales again, having originally displaced the One X in June. This is the second month in a row that the Lumia 900 has outsold the Android handset.
So who is in the top spot? The Samsung Galaxy S III and the iPhone 4S both claim those spaces, but that’s no small surprise given that both are considered the poster children for their respective ecosystems. The fact that the Lumia 900 has taken the third spot for the second month in a row means that Microsoft has a real change to further eat into the numbers of Android and iOS in the coming months as Windows Phone 8 is released.
