HP not threatened by Microsoft Surface, will continue with their own tablet

Not everyone is scared of Microsoft Surface. HP Executive John Soloman had a few things to say about Surface in an interview with CRN.

“I believe Microsoft was basically making a leadership statement and showing what’s possible in the tablet space. Our relationship has not changed at all due to Microsoft’s announcement. In fact, I applaud it — I think it’s great that they are getting out in front and [showing] what’s possible.”

It seems like HP really gets what Microsoft is trying to do with Surface. We have to applaud them for that. The other reason why they don’t feel threatened is because they will be focusing on business customers. Surface RT is more for consumers, and Surface Pro won’t be available until three months after Surface RT. That’s a window HP hopes to cash in on.
