Join AT&T and Pledge to Never Text and Drive

This is probably the most important thing you’ll read today. Technology is great, and we obviously love it here at WinSource, but it can be harmful too. Mobile phones have made our lives easier in a lot of ways, but if used incorrectly they can end lives. Especially on the road.

Texting and driving is one way that technology can be harmful. Here are some facts about texting and driving:

  1. If you are texting while driving you are 23% more likely to get in an accident.
  2. Of all the things you can do on your phone while driving, including phone calls, texting is the most dangerous.
  3. Texting while driving doubles your reaction time.
  4. 100,000 crashes a year are the result of texting and driving.
AT&T uses the slogan “it can wait” and that’s absolutely true. When you’re sending a text while driving think about it for a second. “Is it really worth getting in a crash and possibly ending my life over this?”

Even if you’re reading this and you think “I don’t text while driving” that doesn’t make you immune. There is a lot you can’t control while on the road, including other drivers who are texting. It’s up to you to tell people that you’re not okay with them texting while driving. It’s your life on the line, speak up and defend it.

Click the link below to pledge to never text and drive. Help AT&T to make September 19th “No Text on Board” day and spread awareness. Use the hashtag #itcanwait on Twitter to spread the word.
