Nokia calls out Samsung, tells them to take note of next-gen Lumia

Nothing like a juicy rivalry to start of the morning. Samsung and Nokia have swapped positions in the mobile market. The leader in global smartphone shipments used to be Nokia, but Samsung has taken over that role. If you ever thought that Nokia doesn’t care about such things check out the following tweet by Nokia Sales Chief Chris Weber.

As The Verge points out, there is usually an unwritten rule to never address your competition by name. We see companies do it all the time with clever puns and other sneaky ways, but rarely do we ever see an outright calling out like this. We hope that Mr. Weber knows what he’s talking about, and isn’t just trying to start the hype machine. In September we’ll know if Nokia has something to brag about.

Also, I hope that “Note” pun was intentional.
