“Microsoft Surface is not a business” According to Former Windows Phone GM

At a ThinkSpace event held in Redmond last night, former General Manager for Windows Phone Charlie Kindel said, “Microsoft is not, and never will be, a hardware company.” This is something echoed in both Lenovo and ASUS’ sentiments as they’ve revealed their Windows 8 tablets and now we have Samsung on board with the ATIV Tab. Manufacturers who are griping about the Surface seem to be alienating themselves from those who are accepting the Surface’s presence.

It’s interesting to watch these tablet reveals, as it shows which manufacturers have faith in their own ability to sell their products and those who don’t. We’re looking at you, Acer.
