Windows Phone 8 Could Launch October 29th

Samsung has had a big day today and Nokia’s day is coming up on September 5th, but many people are asking when Windows Phone 8 will finally be released for consumers. According to CNET’s Mary Jo Foley, it could be just a few days after the official launch of Windows 8. According to Foley, Microsoft will want to launch Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, and the Surface all at the same time in order to increase exposure for all its devices. The best way to do this is to keep release dates tightly knit.

If this rumor turns out to be true, that means Windows Phone 8 will be in our hands just a few days after Windows 8 launches. With the launch just over two months away, what does this mean for Windows Phone 7.8? We’re not sure yet, but we’ll keep you up to date.
