Current Lumia devices may see price drop in wake of new WP8 devices

A common practice in the industry is to drop the price of a device when it is replaced by a newer model. This keeps the old hardware relevant to a lot of people who might not care about having the top of the line. Apple is the most well known for this practice, but Nokia may be doing something similar soon.

The New York Times is reporting that Nokia may reduce the price of at least a few Lumia devices to make way for the Windows Phone 8 hardware. The Lumia 900 is already available at the low cost of $50, so it will be interesting to see just how low the prices go. Would a free Lumia be enough to get you to buy a WP7 device?
