Windows Phone 8 Will Include ‘Rooms’ Group Chat to Rival Google+ Hangouts

Another reveal for Windows Phone 8 today, this time a group chat feature called Rooms. Rooms will allow friends and family to chat in virtual rooms, as well as share data during the chat. Rooms will be an interactive group similar to Google+’s hangouts. The feature works by sending a text message that invites users to join. Once inside, Rooms participants will be able to share calendar items, photos, and notes with other members.

So far these are the only details we have on the new group chat service, but we’ll likely see more tomorrow at Nokia’s event.
