[Exclusive] Leaked Sprint training doc reveals no plans to release a Windows Phone 8 device

Sprint has not been the biggest supporter of Windows Phone, and it looks like they have no plans to change that soon. We have received Sprint’s playbook from a tipster, and Windows 8 is mention – but not in a good way.

The playbook has a section titled “Windows 8.” It says:

Right now there’s buzz about this platform, which includes PCs, tablets, and a Windows 8 phone. Currently, we’re evaluating this new OS and working with Microsoft on potential opportunities. However, we have no announcements regarding Windows 8 devices at this time.

After seeing all the great news about Windows Phone 8, and the awesome handsets from Nokia today, this has got to be a blow to Sprint customers. Hopefully they wise up soon.

Thanks _epic!

That’s ok. I’m not waiting on Sprint. I may try to end my contract early.

WOW! Even Sprint is hesitant to touch Windows Phone 8. I can’t blame them. Who wants to trust a company that is not consistent with their platform?

Being in third, they can’t take a ton of chances… so it’s understandable from marketshare. It’s too bad though, since they did take a chance on Palm earlier in the smartphone battles.

Sprint should change there motto to the “Johnny come lately company”, the are late with everything. They were late on LTE, late on IPhone, and now they will be late on Windows Phone 8. I think i will have to jump ship to ATT or Verizon.

I wonder what they said about RIM right under the Windows 8 statement? Can’t find it anywhere on the net and the techs I used to work with at Sprint claim they don’t see it in the most recent playbook.
