Nokia Announces Integrated Suite of Location Services with City Lens

Today at Nokia’s press event, the company announced that its suite of transport services will now be integrated, instead of several different apps. Nokia Drive and Maps will be available offline without the need to cache the information. Transport now also includes route and walking directions, so you know exactly how far your journey will take. Indoor mapping is now available as well.

The new feature called City Lens allows you to point your camera at any city block and find interesting venues such as restaurants around you. You can tap directly on the image to bring up the information for that firm. Nokia maps will also benefit from this augmented reality service, all you’ll have to do is set the route and then you’ll be able to see the points of interest along the route you’ve chosen.
