The switch from Marketplace to Store has been a long time coming, but today we can finally say it’s official. Ever since the Windows Store arrived for Windows 8 it was logical to expect the same thing for Windows Phone. In fact, they are even using the same icons now.
Other than the name change the store has the new design we talked about earlier today, and also improvements to app lists and search. Microsoft is also making the racier apps with sexual content harder to find, something that a lot of people have been complaining about. Users will even be able to flag the apps.
It’s time to say your final goodbyes to the Marketplace name. Store is here to stay. Plus, now we can tell you to download the WinSource app from the Windows Phone Store.
