Surface pre-orders officially open in China

Last week we told you that Microsoft was gearing up to offer its Surface tablet in the Chinese market through retailer Suning. Over the weekend, reports of delays for the Chinese version surfaced, though everything is seemingly ironed out today. The official website is advertising the Surface on its front page and the pre-order page for the device is live. The 32GB version with no cover is priced at RMB 3688 ($589), while the version with the touch cover is retailing for RMB ($717).

There’s currently no word on when the Surface will see retail outside of the UK for Europe or even other markets, but we’ll keep you updated as we expect Microsoft will want to roll out the Surface to as many markets as possible over the coming holiday season.
