HTC Windows Phone 8X sample photos and video

The HTC 8X is in the house, so we’re taking it through the paces for review. One of the first things we wanted to check out is the camera. In Windows Phone 8 there has been a lot of fuss about the camera capabilities. The 8X has a 8MP camera with 1080p video capabilites. It also has an impressive 2.1MP front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens. Check out the photos and video and let us know what you think! (click images to enlarge)

Front Camera

  • Is it just me, or do these pictures look really, really bad? The video looks good tho in full res…

  • I think the sun shining in through windows is making the indoors pics look washed out.

  • Really surprised at how good that Front Camera pic is. The one on my phone is a VGA though, so I guess anything looks better than that.

Yeah, you can make it better by jumping into the settings. Automatic mode is not always the best. I wish we could just change shutter speeds and aperture manually.

  • Interesting. I’ll be happy to see how these shots stack up against the Lumia 920 once it’s available.

  • Plus I really think the lighting had something to do with it.

  • Edgar Cervantes

Yeah, it definitely did. But that is what I mean, if we had control over aperture and shutter speeds we could totally fix that problem.
