A quick look at Xbox SmartGlass for Windows Phone [Video]

Now that SmartGlass is finally available to download and available across all platforms, including Windows Phone, Android and iOS, I thought I would give you guys a quick demonstration about its use. It’s a handy tool if you can’t find your controller, but it can be a bit finicky and it doesn’t work with certain menus that pop up on the Xbox 360 a lot, which is a shame. Overall if you use your Xbox 360 as a media center fairly frequently, you’ll probably be able to get a lot of use out of SmartGlass. As for myself, I use it mostly for gaming so if I don’t turn it on for long periods of time, the inevitable updates that are required for the console force me to use the standard controller.

You can download Xbox SmartGlass for your Windows Phone by hitting the button below. If you have an Android or iOS phone, check your respective marketplace for the download link.

That’s definitely a shame you can’t use the app to update, but I guess if you’re like me and don’t use the Xbox often enough for things to stay updated, you probably won’t be as apt to use SmartGlass. Still, I really like how responsive it appears. Great video!

Looks so much better than the Android app. I have a bunch of little issues with the Android SmartGlass app.

Looks pretty cool. Glad to see them really pushing this forward quickly… but I guess they kinda have to if they wanna beat WiiU to the punch.
